Every year, the market hits a low in closed sales in January and in February it recovers, so this is the time to be shopping around for a good deal in real estate before everyone jumps back into the market. I think if you are looking for real estate now, its much easier to get a deal than it was in the years past. Make sure you're working with an agent who will help you find and negotiate those good deals.

When: Kickoff Friday, Jan 9 (Runs through March 1)
The Vibe: Downtown Grand Rapids becomes the largest free winter art gallery in the U.S. Wander along the Grand River to see over 60 massive light installations and interactive sculptures.
Pro Tip: Start at Ah-Nab-Awen Park for the best light displays, then cross the Blue Bridge for some of the best photo ops in the city.
Fire & Ice Festival (Detroit)
When: Saturday, Jan 10 (12 PM – 8 PM) & Sunday, Jan 11 (12 PM – 6 PM)
Where: Robert C. Valade Park, Detroit Riverfront
The Highlight: Don’t miss the Ice Tower lighting at 6:00 PM on Saturday, where a 7-foot ice structure is transformed into a roaring bonfire. Expect medieval-themed fun, turkey legs, and plenty of oversized fires to keep you warm.

Something historic is landing in Saline Township. This week, news broke regarding the massive Oracle-OpenAI-SoftBank "Stargate" campus.
What it is: A landmark AI data center project bringing billions in investment and over 2,500 union construction jobs to Washtenaw County.
Status: The state recently cleared a major hurdle with a conditional power supply agreement from the Michigan Public Service Commission. Construction is expected to begin later this year, signaling Michigan’s massive pivot into the global AI infrastructure race.
